I'm going to move this thread to Bluetooth, Navi, Audio and Video because that is where all the electronics guys hang out. Plus, this is not specific to the 3rd Gen TL.
I think you will get better response over there from Mobilezen and his crew.

Yeah... um... I don't think I'd be comfortable starting my car when I couldn't see it, much less from a distance where it'll take me several minutes to walk to it (i.e. the parking garage example), but hey... to each his (or her) own.
Still... those other features are interesting. I can DEFINITELY see the advantages in being able to lock/unlock the doors via telephone. Also, being able to flash the parking lights could conceivably come in handy, as could that car-finder thingy. All that for $150? Not bad! Heck, of all the people I know that have OnStar, that's the primary reason they give for having the service... the ability to unlock the doors if you accidentally lock your keys in the car. $150 one-time fee sure beats OnStar's rates over the long haul (especially when you consider, the $150 is for the alarm unit itself, not just the activation fee).
Of course, that's the real question. It says that lifetime activation is included, but is this really a one-time fee, or are there hidden "subscription" charges? It's always a good idea to take any advertisements VERY literally. Marketing people are very good at saying something in a way that makes you THINK they're saying something else. "Lifetime Activation" is an odd term that makes my Spidey-Sense tingle.
