Samsung E730

Has anyone tried this Samsung bluetooth phone with the TL. If so, do all functions work on the HFL, or only some. I understand that some have gotten the Samsung D500 to work and this is a closely-related phone.

Any input on this would be appreciated.

E730 is a different phone than the I730 that you've got.

So far, I've gotten the E730 paired with the HFL and have made calls with it. Battery remaining and signal strength don't show unfortunately. Haven't gotten any incoming calls on it yet, so can't speak about caller i.d.

CCreek,

Did you ever find out if caller ID worked on the E730? Did you maybe get a firmware upgrade that gave you battery level and signal strength in the MID? Please let me know. Thanks!

The caller i.d. works, but not battery or signal levels. Good reception and clarity and I have not had the link fail or de-link once yet. Transferring calls from the handset to the car also works well.

That is GREAT news. Thank you so much!! I've ordered the phone and should have it soon... glad I won't be having buyer's remorse. The signal and battery level I can live without.

All in all, are you enjoying the phone?

Its a great phone. Battery strength is pretty good, as long as you don't leave bluetooth on all the time. The battery also drains quicker if you make a lot of use of the mp3 player or the camera, but that is no surprise. The phone doesn't draw much attention, but anyone that touches it wants one. I think that's due to the combination of the size and the soft touch feel version. Reception is just as good as the Samsung S300 I had before, which is pretty good. I've gone out of the country with it, with no problems at all. The camera does a decent job for what it is (1 mpx) - its quick to get to the function and the pictures come out pretty well. It is very easy to connect to the computer, with the supplied programs on the CD. For a charger, it can use the same charger as a lot of the older Samsungs - like the S300 for example.

No regrets with this purchase. Enjoy.
