Samsung 870, 930, and 990 Bluetooth performance

Hey Guys,

Anyone have any "user feedback" on any of these Samsung Phones: SCH 870, 930, and 990? I have an 06 TL.

Also, how much should I trust Acura's website that tests these phones? According to the website, all of these phones perform most of the Bluetooth functions, but I'd feel better making my decision with some of your input.

Thanks!
Rob

P.S. I tried the search feature but I must be doing something wrong, so forgive me if I'm re-hashing.

Try a search on "Samsung A870" .... there is info on some of the threads. I have an 870 and mated it with my 2005 TL. The HFL does not recognize incoming calls. If I try to transfer the call, the HFL says there is no incoming call. If I then answer the call with my cellphone, the HFL kicks in! Weird,huh? I am on the Telus network in Vancouver, Canada. The Acura website recommends this phone. Outgoing calls work just fine.

I must be doing something wrong, because whenever I search it tells me that "A870" is too short of a word to search for...is there a trick to this? I tried sending a message to the moderators but got no response :-(

I think you need to include"Samsung" in your search. You won't find much more info anyway. :-)

Thanks,
Rob

Samsung A870

After I mated my Samsung A870 to the HFL the HFL would not recognize incoming calls. I took the car to Burrard Acura in Vancouver and one of the service guys spent 15 minutes with me sorting it out. All that was needed was a change of settings in the phone ! The phone menu is not well designed and the manual does not help much. I was impressed with the no-charge help from the dealer and the phone works fine now.

Do you know what phone settings he changed?

That was a while back, but I think it was as follows:

menu --> settings -->others -->call setup -->auto answer

My auto answer had to be set to 8 seconds. I am not sure if it was set at
"off " originally. I know the problem had nothing to do with any of the obvious Bluetooth settings.
