S700i pairing problems

I've been trying to pair my s700i to my TL and the TL always locks up during the pairing process. It gets stuck and the only way to reset is to pull a fuse. The TL will ask for a code I state the code and then it searches for a bluetooth phone. I got to the menu on my S700i go to bluetooth my handsfree(I've also tried "my devices "same thing happens) It finds the HandsfreeLink, I put in the passcode, it tries to connect it says connection unavailable. Now my TL has locked up and its stuck in the pairing process with the MID stuck with Pairing and the passcode displayed. I've tried it over and over and the same thing always happens. I've upgraded my firmware at the Sonyericcson website and stil the same problem.
the firmware is:
R3K004
prgCXC125935_EU_1_T

LCD SW versions
Main display
Current: 200211260

Camera SW versions
Camera
Current:1.0

ITP SW version
CXC 125 942 R2A

Customization
cda 102300/20 rza
cxc125941R3K004
EU_5
I've paired my TL w/my old t1610 and no problems. I've hooked up my s700i to my home PC w/bluetooth and no problems.

I just got my TL last Friday, already had the s700i, it paired up right away and have had no problems except one time when the phone locked up. Pulled the battery out and started it again and all has been fine. You may want to take it to the dealer.

I just wanted to make sure if the phone or if the car was the problem. Is there any way to actually reset the HFL in the TL???

My S700i pairs with my TL. Battery, signal, etc. everything shows on the MID.

My experience is that Sony Ericsson phones that have bluetooth always pairs with the TL. T68i, T610/616, T630, K700i, S700i, P910i all paired with my TL.

Quick question, is your S700i a branded version from either T-Mobile EU/UK or Orange or O2? Sometimes provider specific firmware versions can be tricky.

If you have everything backed up, do a master reset, then restore your data and see how that goes. PM/Email me (alex@mobilezen.com) if you must.

Which provider do you use in KS? When I passed through there on the way to Denver, I think there was a US125 or something like that...T-Mobile is somewhere in there as well...

In KS there is a U.S. 125 or something like that, Westlink, and T-mobile. Does the provider have to do something with the pairing process??? The last phone I used was a t610 and it was branded to T-mobile.

This is a far stretch but if you have any animated themes, change it to something non-animated or no theme at all. I still have my S700i and pairing with my hbh-660 and 600 are a painw hen I have the animated wallpapers and such. Looks like you got a regular S700i (not from asia thank goodness) so I think you're ok as for the mechanics and such.

Tried the non-animation thing, and still the same thing. "Bluetooth Connection Failed" and the HFL locks up.

I have the S710a, it paired up with no problem. Displays battery and signal. I did read somewhere the S700i was more of a world phone and the S710a was made more for north america. Slight difference but not much.
When I got my phone it was issued for Cingular only, I had it unlocked and put in my T-mobile chip and it worked fine.

Yeah, I guess I might be the only one with this problem. I hope its not the phone I would hate to have to get rid of it. I'll probably take it to the dealer here in a couple of weeks, I'd take it sooner but no time off to take it and the only Acura dealership is 80 miles away.

The only other difference with the s700i is that it also has a FM turner.

S710a also has different firmware and supports EDGE technology via GPRS. Also the casing is black compared to a silver.

That is so weird. Have Acura take a look at the car. I, myself have paired many S700i phones with previous firmware versions as well as r3k without any issues.

The HFL is acting up also. Sometimes when I press the talk button it doesn't go to the main menu. It just does nothing at all. The next time I started my car it worked but everytime I said a command I would hear my voice over the speakers and then it would respond. I've still been trying to pair the phone but it would still lock up. I've also tried to clear the system. But when I asked it to list the phones it would still say my old t610 that I paired up before. I've deleted it in the phone setup options and it keeps on coming back. It'll be a couple weeks before I take it to the dealer so I guess I'll just wait til then.
