Rockford 12" and 1000w amp

Hey guys, I'm fairly new to this forum but from what I can tell it has a TON of helpful info. on it and some pretty cool people
anyway I have a short story to tell you guys. About a month ago I used to have a 2000 mustang gt which had a 12 inch sub and a 1000w amp in it. And then I kind of totalled it a little bit =/ It turned out OK though because with the help of insurence I purchased a 2004 tl A-Spec!
So my questions are: A) Can I put this sub and amp into my new tl fairly easily? and B) Should I put this stuff in with the factory TL head unit? Thanks for any help in advance!

It's not too tough at all. I have an MTX 12'' and a mono amp that I wired up while retaining the stock HU. I used a Line Out Converter and tapped the stock subs wires and then ran that to the amp. There are several good threads in the DIY section with pics and everything.

alright gotcha, and another question I forgot to ask was, can the stock HU utilize the sub very well? Because I saw that the the HU can only go up to 6 on the sub volume control, can you raise or do anything about that?
