For everyone that has the V710 from RS are you going to be returning it and waiting for the new already patched phone from VZW or just keep the phone and hope VZW will flash it??

I have read that the flash can fail and prevent the phone from working again.. Is this real or just someone who has no idea about the process?? If this is true I wonder who would hold the warranty for the phone?? RS or Motorola??

It's no different than upgrading the operating system on your computer. Generally goes pretty smoothly. Sure a flash can fail, and leave the phone fubar, but if VZW is doing it, then they should be accountable for anything that goes wrong with the phone itself in the unlikely event that something goes wrong. The only thing they will tell you is there is always a chance that the stored phone numbers might not survive an update. I've never had a problem with that though when upgrading the firmware.
