Replaced Battery No Screen Display Now
I’ve been an occasional lurker on the site with a very few posts probably because my ‘06 MT Navi car has been pretty damn reliable. Also very well maintained and we don’t push it real hard. We just hit 160k/100k miles and so had the T-Belt etc. done this week and so had a new battery installed. Of course along the way we had the clock issues which had righted itself recently though we just manually reset it for DST. The Navi portion quit in the last year but oh well briefly spoke with a dealer and decided to just live with it.
When I got the car back it asked for the radio code which I entered and so radio/DVD/clock works fine(the time is waaay off but there is nothing on the Navi display at all except a “please wait while software is loaded” and shortly after a message that says “Please check the disc“. I know there’s a wealth of information on here but I’m wondering if someone would be good enough to steer me in the right direction as far as just the clock and if possible the fixes/hacks to get the display working again as right now I can’t change the clock without the display. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you have a bad DVD player in the trunk. And that has to be fixed in order to get your menu on screen. So no, you won't be able to adjust the clock if you have no menu.
All these DVD players go bad eventually. You'll either have to buy one used on eBay and take your chances, oh I think Acura will fix it for $500 somewhere I've seen

You know.. what I said above, I think is correct, but to be honest, I have only had that dvd player go bad once and I got that disk error.. what I dont remember is if the menu comes back on after the error clears. ..as I am sitting here thinking about it.
so let me ask you this, since you put a new battery in it, is there any place to enter the CODE for the navi screen? It is a 4 digit code..
there is also a 5 or 6 digit radio code that must be entered when you disconnect the battery.
The only hope is that you can still get the menu by entering both codes.
have you tried just disconnecting the dvd player? But you know the rear view camera goes through the DVD player, right?
the other thing you may try is find someone with another disk that is compatible with yours and just swap the dvd and see if it works. It may be possible the dvd itself is scratched or acting up. Or as I said above the dvd player is hosed.
you may try disconnecting one of those cables at a time on the DVD player in the trunk and turn the key on and see what happens. See if it will bypass the whole DVD error. Which I never tried that

Thanks again for input Chad. The TL is pretty lightly used this time of year but I finally remembered today to disconnect the battery and reconnect at 1:00 and now the clock is bang on. I put in the radio code and the CD/Radio is up and running. Still getting the message “check the disk” so there’s nowhere to input the Navi code. Oh well the Mrs. is getting used to this issue and she’s tickled to just have an accurate clock. I’ll try disconnecting the DVD Player too as you’ve suggested.
