Renew XM Radio Canada for C$ 77 Annually
Promo code: 1YREPP100
This promo code works thru xmradio.ca - I'm still on the 3 month trial, but was able to secure one year at a discounted rate.
The one year rate is $164.89 + GST subtract the promo of $100.00 = $73.97!!!
Plus, the site said my card won't be charged until after my trial date. Nice!
Good luck eh!

XM Radio Canada for $77 annually!
I just called in and got this rate in CDN dollars. $77 CDN per year.
I saw the posts for the US XM promo at $77 so I thought I'd give it a try.
After calling in the CSR tried to find the promo code I gave him (ZWINBACK) but said he couldn't find it and it may be a US deal only. He told me to wait until he could find a promo code that would be around this price. After waiting 5 min with the guy, he said he found one and would honor the $77 price with no activation key.
Then I boldly asked him for the code and here it is: 1YREPP
You may not need to quote this code, just ask them to match the $77 price.
Cool eh? The rack rate is $165 per year.
Good luck.

you pay the initial cost for the first device, the and "add-on" cost for each device there after. Something like $7 per device. It's on the xm webpage

Im in the U.S. and I just called them and they told me the promo is only for people who have let the trial offer expire. I told him that was kinda dumb when he could go ahead and lock in my subscription now, because I would not pay him 142.00 per year like he wanted. I told him I would just wait until it expired and call him back and get it then. He said that it was up to me. It sort of pissed me off, but I guess I will just wait.

Code no longer works
I called in today to take advantage of this and was told that the code was long since expired. They were good enough to look up another code, not quite as good a deal, but still OK... $82.45 +GST for 1 year.
If you are on the 90 day free trial I would make sure that you wait till it expires (and quits working). My was still working although it should have expired a couple of days ago and it turned out that my account was "active" with no plan attached. So... if I would have left it alone, it would have stayed active indefinitely. Damn!

You don't really need a code when you call in... they seem quite willing to negotiate and will look up a code for you. If you don't get the deal you want, simply call back later and talk to someone else.

I'm glad to see this is working for our neighbors to the north! I'm calling to get mine for $77 for next year. I legitimately got the letter in the mail, so they're still doing it (in the US at least).

Promo code still OK in Jan 2008
I just bought a pre-owned 07 Acura TLS and called 1 877 438-9677 (Canada) and after she checked with her supervisor a few times....she gave me the $100 off using the promo code 1YREPP100. So for a year it came to $189 - $100 = $89 + taxes = $ 106...still not too bad

I live in White Rock, so I don't know why they gave you a different price.

I called this evening and the they told me the code was expired and the best they could do was give me a $50 discount. I turned it down. That is the end of XM Radio for me.

It really seems to make a difference on who answers the phone. Goredcar was told it expired last October, yet Robq got in in January and I got it in February.
I don't think I would have renewed either if the best price was only $50 off.

I spoke to the dealer today. He received a complaint from another customer who also couldn't get a discount and was complaining that different customers were getting different deals. The customer service rep I spoke to suggested that the promo code was a dealer code but my dealer denied ever having a dealer promo code. Frankly, there is a real problem when a business has such a variety of deals which change from time to time. I fully understand that some customers will get better deals but it appears that this company treats all of its customers differently for no apparent reason. The last time I encountered this was with a Dataviz product which I paid full price for and was discounted by 50% within a month. When I complained Dataviz gave me a partial refund. It is more understandable that software prices may drop quickly but what is going on with XM is ridiculous.

Agreed....the US guys are still getting the $77/year deal to this day. I'm gonna try it as my XM expires later this moth.

My trial expired on April 21st and before it expired I got a number of calls offering me the $14.99 per month rate. I kept saying no but no better offer was forthcoming. I got another call last night and when they asked how I liked XM I said that I liked it but not enough to pay $14. 99 per month. He immediately offered me a rate of $82.00 for one year plus taxes. I took it.

XM radio getting cranky
Ok guys here is the latest scoop. I took a great interest in this thread because I really wanted to extend my XM radio service but didn't want to pay the regular amount for it.
The 3 month trial on mine expired recently and I called to reactivate. I had a lot of trouble trying to negotiate any price with the CSR and spoke to several. After much hassle I was unable to work with any of the promotion codes that were spoke about previously in the thread. I assume that XM got rid of these codes a short while ago.
I referred to these promotion codes and the $77 dollar deals and nobody there seemed to know anything about them. They also told me that the cost of continuing XM service also depended on the make and model of the vehicle. Everything sounded a bit fishy and unprofessional. It still urches me that a company like XM can get away with giving multiple price packages for their service.
Anyway, I finally asked to speak to a manager and he was able to give me a 100 dollar a year deal (taxes included) and no activation fee. I took that deal, not as good as the $77 deal but I guess the loonie is dropping in price too....
Good luck.

Promotional code no longer works
Hi,
I just phoned and tried to use this code. Unfortunately it has expired and they were unwilling to offer anything other than the full rate.
Does anyone have a valid promotional code for Canadian customers? The "scripted" call referred to for US customers doesn't work either in my experience.

XMAGAIN1 is supposed to be good for 2 months free on a 3-month plan for $14.95 plus taxes for people whose subscription has expired. You have to go through all the hassle again in three months though and find another deal.
XMAGAIN2 is 3 months free on a 12-month plan. Not that great a deal. Haven't heard of any other deals. Some people are making up a US address and are calling XM USA and getting the $77 deal there. Apparently it works fine here in Canada plus you get all the stations plus a few more than we get. See this site, there are various threads about it: http://www.xmfan.com/viewforum.php?f=37

I would just call back a few times until you get someone who is more receptive to give you a better offer. It took me 3 calls to get a rep that was willing to lower the price...but they will do it eventually.

Got IT!!
lol, after trying XM Canada for many times I couldn't get them to give me anything close to $77.
I decided to call XM US, gave them the "zwinback", the rep started to setup the account. Gave them the address of US dealer when asked.
When I read the credit card the rep said that they cannot accept Canadian CC. They gave me 3 months trial for free. After that I can call them back and mail in the cheque in US funds for $77 to sign up for another year.

Just received my credit card bill and XM Canada charged me $171.02 instead of $73.32.
As most companies do for "training purposes" my original phone call was recorded. My credit card has been credited with $93.18. Check your credit card if you get a promo rate/discounted rate.

XM Satellite Radio Quality
I own a 2006 Acura TL with the ELS Surround Sound system installed. When I had the trial subscription to XM radio, the channels all sounded like they were broadcasting from a box. The sound quality really is lacking. Is it me? My FM reception is great. But XM to me isn't worth the price for the sound quality received.
