remote start problem...

ive got a 05 TL and last night me and buddy try to install a viper 5900 alarm w/ remote start. My friend works for cartoy and install alarms for a living and hes stumped. Everything works fine except the remote start. when u press the button for remote start the car trys to start and then shuts off. then it trys again and it comes on. We figure it was the key1 so i switched with my other key2 same thing. Ive lost my valet key so i couldnt try that key. I dont think it would matter.im kinda worryed that with it coming on and off will mess up the starter. anyone got any idea for a solution?

Sounds like your transponder bypass. Try this: insert the key in the ignition but do not start it just leave it in the ignition in the off position. If you are using a transponder box or non-key immobolizer bypass make sure it is disconnected. Try and remote start...if it sucessful it means your transponder bypass is not working. If this is the case make sure the - Status Output on the remote start has a negative output once you activate the remote start. If it does not, connect the negative input on the immobolizer bypass module to the - third ign output of the viper

When you're installing a remote start in 3G TLs you need to bypass the Acura immobolizer also known as a transponder or "chip in the key". The chip is activated once the key is inserted in the ignition and through a small RF antenna located at the key barrel sends the right code to the car's CPU to activate the fuel pump. In order to do a remote start you need to install a bypass module. There are 2 types one that requires a physical key or one that is keyless, obviously the keyless are better for security reasons.

The bypass modules only needs +12 volts and - to activate. However you only want to activate the bypass when the remote start is activated that is why you connect the 12 volts to a constant source on the igntion switch and the - to the - status output of the remote start. - status output is also referred to as - out when running or Ground out when running. If this output is defective then it will not activate the box which in turn does not sucessfully start the car...the car will crank but not start. Viper's have a back up wire if the - status output is defective, it is known as the - ignition 3 output.

Hope that clarifies
