Rearview Camera

Is it just me or does anyone find it annoying for TL or any Acura in that matter the fact that the rearview camera doesn't work while the navigation is booting up?

my wife's Infiniti FX would show the rearview camera as soon as you put the gear in reverse after turning on the ignition, but acura shows its blue acura satellite navigation for 3-4 seconds and then show the rearview.

Any hack for this?

Thanks in advance

Bryan

hm...that's a very good question. however, not having a rearview camera in my 2005 TL, i would quite "understand the frustration". Any who, I'm sure SOMEONE out there has a hack for it; if not, think of it as letting your car 'WARM UP'...it's always good to let her sit right after turning her on, right?

The FX camera is much better than TLs.... I actually miss that car.

I think if someone can finally find away to remove the OK confirmation screen, the reverse camera boot up will be faster.

Have you seen the rearview cameras on Audi Q7? The lines turn as you turn your steering wheel guiding you where the car is headed.

Infiniti has at least clear lines that tells you the curb as well as the distance.

What does acura have? just a camera with no indication of anything. If that was annoying enough, having to see that blue screen for 3-4 sec while the nav screen is booting up is just ridiculous.

I mean i love TL Type S. It's just that something that's so common sense is missing from this great car.

I got the 08 TL Type S over the memorial day weekend, and I have never bought a car in my life but leased since college years, but this is the first car that ever made me feel wanting to purchase after the lease is up.

PLEASE SOMEBODY COME UP WITH THE HACK!!!!!!!!!

Ok, from what I know the TL and Infiniti system uses different circuitry in displaying the video from the rear-view. The TL has the camera plug into the drive, and then the image is displayed though the drive to the video output. I suspect in the G35, the output from the camera is not going through any drive processing and it has it's own separate unit, that is connected to the video screen. You can't hack circuitry unless you want to redesign the boards inside.

I didnt even realize this was the case. I have an 06 .. not a TYPE S... and I just did an aftermarket backup camera and dont have this problem. I'm surprised they designed the system this way.

the only reason why acura's camera system doesn't have line... is.. because.. THEY COPIED IT FROM ACURAZINE!!! LOL....

i am sure they will have better camera system... remember.. our system was First NAVI then on top of that Camera, but Infiniti is camera first then on top of that Navi

Thats because dom's switches past the DVD unit and overcomes the dvd video. The stock system untilizes the factory drive for processing.

Not sure if the issue is the low resolution of the screen or crappy camera...... but at times I would like something with a better picture.....
