Rear Automatic Windows

I just purchased an 07 TL-S and I'm not sure how the windows and motors work but would it be possible to swap the motors or any relays so that the two back windows go down and up all the way like the front? Is this a feature of the motor or simply a matter of swapping the switch?

It's a feature of the motor logic... not possible by just swapping motors or switch...

Its a govt mandated design so little kids cant climb right out the back windows- same reason there is a lockout for the rear doors- keeps kids contained in the moving vehicle and the driver window override that allows only you to roll the windows down or up, no escape or trapping little brothers head in window from the back seat

Ahhh the good old days when we could hang out the side of the car- taunting death

This was actually with the type of switch. You have to pull up to make the window go up. Some kid on a Chevy I believe stuck his head out the window and accidentally had a hand or bodypart on the window switch and choked himself to death. Now you have to pull up instead of push down on the switch to make the window go up. Another lawsuit because of unsupervised children.

our windows automatically roll back down when it senses a restriction/load in it's path.... so go outside to your car.... test this feature... stick your neck in the window path and roll up the window... come back and let us know what happens...

LOL. I actually got the girlfriend to test the Acura one time. There were cars on the road like the parents old 91 Explorer that had the most powerful windows I've ever seen and no sensor. I know this because I nearly had to break the window to get my hand out and it was more than powerful enough to cut off the air/blood flow to the head. The sensors are probably a law by now.

I was just thinking about this this morning. I really don't care if the people in the back seat have to hold the switch to roll the window. I'd be happy if I could just change the switches in the driver's controls to make the two rear windows automatic.
That way I don't have to hold the switch to roll the windows.

I could be wrong, but I think the OP was referring to the auto up and auto down feature, not the window lock out.

The RL has auto up/ down for all windows. I would guess (although I'm not a mechanic) that the switches and the motor assembly would need to be replaced. The auto up/down switches have 4 positions where the others have 2. The motor must have some sort of "stress limitation" that when reached, the window goes back down.

My girlfriend's mom closed the rear passenger window of her Subaru Legacy on my arm by mistake and I had a bruise for a month. No sensor, I guess...

DEi ( direct electronic inc) makes a window roll up module that has this feature, I'm not sure what model number is but I'm sure you can go to any one of these custom alarm shops and ask them.........good luck
