does anyone know if the RAZR3 will be available for verizon customers? or is the v710 going to be the only bluetooth phone that verizon will have available for a while?

Isn't it having SIM card plus GPRS 2U4D? Quad-band (GSM 850/900/1800/1900)!?

The RAZR V3 is a GSM phone and VZ is a CDMA carrier... therefore VZ cannot sell it. Only Cingular and T-Mobile could have it. However, Cingular currently has the exclusive and I am not sure if T-Mobile will ever get it.

I would expect VZ to get some additional BT phones in the 1Q '05, but you never know.

Apparently when BT was an emerging technology VZ and Sprint thought it would never catch on and told the handset manufacturers not to bother. Well it looks like the GSM carriers gambled correctly.

I have the v3 and it works with T-mobile. Cingular just has exclusive rights to sell the phone, but it will work on any GSM network.

Obviously. I just said that T-Mobile might not ever sell it.

soljc: How much did you pay for the V3 with 1 year T-mobile contract?
The cheapest I found is this store in chinatown. $390-$50 rebate so it's $340 with a 1 year contract with T-mobile.

Tmobile does not sell the phone. You would have to buy the razr from cingular - make sure it is unlocked and pop in a sim card from tmobile. It will not be anytime soon that tmobile will offer the razr directly.

I know T-mobile doesn't sell the phone. If you go to the cell phone stores in chinatown, flushing in NY, you can get any phone you want with any service you want. These phones are unlocked and unbranded. Most of the time you can even get rebates with t-mobile. Even if the phone is not carried by t-mobile.

It was $500 last month. The $390 price I got was from sunday. My contract with cingular is up next month. Maybe the price will drop again. It was the same with the SE S700.
I'm going back to t-mobile.

I heard the battery life on the Razr was terrible. Can anyone tell me how long you need to go before recharge if you leave BT on all the time?

Can't tell you with the BT on, but without it on (and an engineering sample about a month before it was released) the battery lasted about an hour and a half talk time. It sucked. This was PROBABLY because they had not tweeked the battery usage on the engineering sample at that time. Check out howardforums.com they you can get tons of information on the razr there.

I don't like cingular. There customer service is not up to par. It's not open on the weekends. It seems like there is more tax with cingular.
Cingular's voice mail is horrible. It takes so long just so you can leave a voice mail to a cingular subscriber. The only reason why I hate leaving a voice mail when I call my gf or any other friends that has cingular. Also when checking your voice mail, you can't delete the message until the message is done playing. People can prank you and leave a 5min long voice mail and you would have to wait till it's finish playing in order to delete it.

The service here in the NE is the same if you have cingular or T-mobile. Cingular uses T-mobile's towels here in the NE.
Also, you can get rebates on phones with T-mobile even if T-mobile doesn't carry it.

The phone works perfectly with both the TL and the bluetooth headset that came with it. I just dropped in my SIM card, and had it working in seconds. The phone doesn't show the battery strength in the TL, but I usually charge it when I'm in the car anyway, so that's not a big deal for me. It's Cingular branded, so I get their logo when I start the phone, and the logo is on the back of the phone, but again, not a big deal for me.

I paid $600 for it on Ebay, which included the HS-810 bluetooth headset and charger. I know many will say don't ever buy from Ebay, but with an item like this, I'll only buy from those with perfect feedback, and sure enough, it worked out for me. Or, you can just buy it directly from Cingular for $599 (no contract) but then you'll need to pay another $75 for the headset, if you want it.

I think it's $499 with a 2-year contract, but I'm not sure on that.....my work pays the bill, I just buy the equipment.

I use the phone a lot, say 1500 minutes per month, and my limited experience is that with BT on all the time, you'll need to charge it every 24-36 hours. If I turn BT off, I get closer to 36-48 hours before a charge is needed.

While I know this isn't great, my old v525 was even worse.

That's strange. Everyone that I know that has cingular here in NYC can't delete their voice mail until it has been heard at least once.

I didn't mean the retail stores. I meant the CS not being open on weekends.

I have Cingular and have always been able to delete messages by pressing 3 at anytime during the message. Either way, if you're unhappy I can't blame you for switching.

Try pressing the key associated with delete twice rapidly. I used to have the same problem on AT&T TDMA and this took care of it.

I been trying pressing "7" during the message and the system just tells me that I can't delete it until it has been heard.

Just hit 3-3-7.

The "3-3" part brings you instantly to the end of the message and then the 7 deletes it.

That's what I do at work!
