Random DVD-A skips
Random DVD-A skips
I recently tried and successfully completed making several DVD-A discs using Adobeman's GUI interface. It works like a charm. I just have one minor issue....even after testing to make sure the DVD plays all the songs fine, it would, from time to time, skip over one song, but when you go back to it, it will play fine.
My question is, ive tried burning the disc at slower speeds and such, to no avail, since the disc plays fine on the computer and other dvd players (it plays all the tracks fine). it just seems to happen on the TL's player.
Now is it a media issue? for those that have done this, what media have you guys used? I have an 06 TL w/ Navi and use Memorex DVD-R discs. what media do you guys recommend?
Thanks in advance

It has usually been a combination of media and/or hardware. It is really hard to pinpoint since it can be random. I use TDK 8x "print on" DVD-R and burn with a Pioneer DVR-105. The DVR-105 is an oldie but is very solid and reliable with respect to burning properly. I usually use CDEx to rip CDs. One member (AdamNJ) reported he fixed his problem by switching to Sony branded DVD-R media. He also supplied this link http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm which supports many other positions I have seen about media, the good, the bad and the really ugly. Another member used a different burner and that fixed his problem.
So basically if you are using "bargain" media and a "bargain" burner that could be some of the issue.

Thanks for the reply.
I am using a pretty expensive Sony DVD burner. I bought this since it also supports DVD-DL because I archive a lot of important files. the Memorex DVD I got was about the same price as the Sony and TDK DVD discs (they were about average price, not exactly the bargain discs). Im a firm believer of "you get what you pay for" so there is no problem there.
But I would like to thank this opportunity to also personally thank you for a GREAT GUI! I really love the fact that I can now play one DVD on my home computer and listen to music w/o replacing the disc often. Im not a big fan of MP3s so this is a huge help. I really appreciate it!
Im currently trying a new batch of TDK DVD-R media and will try Sony and Verbatim if it doesnt work. Like I said, the whole disc plays fine. It just will randomly switch to the next song, and it wouldnt be the same song all the time.
Thanks again!
