Radio sounds gets static when car started - Why?

I have a 2004 TL and my radio has a problem of when you start the car, the radio gets static added to it. It is clean if the car is in the start position and listening to it, but once it starts the static kicks in? Has this happened to you, if so can you advise if this is simply a radio past its prime. Thanks in advance...

Your factory amp is toast. You can get a replacement from a 2005+ 3rd gen TL.

This was the fix for my 2004 as well, after a lot of frustration searching this forum and having an audio shop look it over. At first, another amp from an '04 was installed and had the same problem. Only after running across some posts on the Black Market did I discover this is a common problem with the 2004 amps. I swapped in an amp from a totaled '05 last week and that did the trick.
