Radio Reset Itself!!!??

OK so my brother moved my car using the spare key yesterday afternoon. Then I got into the car last night and all the radio stations presets were wiped out and the XM satellite siad call XM for activation. Now this car is less than two weeks old and the I thought XM was supposed to be free for three months. Any thoughts, comments, or suggestions?

Dunno. Sounds like electricity was interrupted to the audio system through an open connection, a fuse was removed or blew out, or battery connection was removed and replaced. You may have to let your dealer fix the issue.

If you have a 2005 (2004 models didn't retain presets by keyfob), and he unlocked the car with the other remote, the radio will retain the presets for the other key fob. If none were set, then it will just keep whatever is there. Try unlocking with your keyfob and see if if your presets come back.

But this shouldn't affect the XM activation, so I don't know what's going on there, unless it's an electrical malfunction like Repecat said. But if that happened, you should have needed to enter the radio code, so now I really have to say I don't know what happened.

This happened to me also, is your outside temperature gauge flatlined (reading "---")?

If so then follow the thread where you remove fuse #7 for a few seconds and reinsert.

For whatever reason mine "fixed" itself within a afternoon, more than likely this is a S/W problem that occasionally comes up.

Got my 05 in November and the same thing happened to me twice, within the first week. The dealer said that he never heard of that happening before????
It has not happened since.

Are you sure you weren't just listening to XM channel 0 or 1...cause they play a loop of "sign up for service" messages

Huh, didn't know that, you learn something new every day. Guess that is kind of cool, I'm the sole driver so not that big of a deal for me.
