Radio power off. Not asking for codes. Fuse checked.

I hard-wired my nuvi with a fuse extender today.
Used slot 32.
Grounded the cigarette light adapters to the frame.
Using the same 7.5amp fuse I pulled out.

Nuvi works great.
But the radio is off.

Checked the radio fuse in slot 5. It is fine.

The battery died when I was hard-wiring. I jump started the car. Everything else works fine.

Could someone help? Thanks in advance.

the radio won't turn on... #32 controls the radio and some other things too... did you use an add a fuse for it?

If you jumped started the car, you needs to turn on the radio (push your volume knob) then it will say code. Use your preset #'s to put in the code.

I used the same fuse I pulled out of 32.
It is rated 7.5amp.
The fuse is still good.. since it charges my Nuvi.

My TL is a manual.
My driveway is sloped. So, I was able to let it roll and engage the gear to jump start it.
The code request does not come up even after I press the volume button.
The CD eject button did work.
The display shows HandsFreeLink. Thats it.

Here is the add-a-fuse extender that I used on fuse 32.

http://www.amazon.com/Bussmann-BP-HH.../dp/B000GKEXK2

I reused the fuse I pulled out of 32.
Looks like I should have used a different fuse.
Also, I think I need 2 fuses.. not just one..

I will buy the small ATM fuses later today and check it out.
BTW, Does anyone know what amp I need for the NUVI 360?

I strongly believe that is your solution there. The add-a-circuit requires that you use two equally rated fuses. Make sure you insert another 7.5 amp fuse in there and you should be fine.

Solved

Thanks for all who responded.
All I needed to do is to add an ATM fuse..
As the name suggests, I added a 'add-a-fuse' line to the fuse box. It takes two fuses.. one to cover the fuse that I pulled out.. and the other one for the additional line I got.

Thanks again.. Now my GPS hard-wiring is complete.. It works great.
