Radio Code Help
Radio Code Help
So I have my radio code the 8 digit code. I can't get the code for the navigation though?
When I first start the car and have the warning screen show it asks for a 4 digit code?
Where can I get that?
My one hour ride to work tomorrow is really going to suck without my usual traffic/weather/news reports.
I know there are a bunch of threads on radio codes, people saying that you need to search your glove box/owners manual. And usually the code is there? I did and couldn't find it, but did find a thread explaining how to get the radio code?
What about the Nav?

What about the Nav?
Once you find the code for the radio itself, your navigation should work as well. It's normally inside one of the pockets of the owners manual. That or you can go to the dealership.
On my 05,my radio code is 5 digits while navi is 4 digits.
If you just put your radio code i doubt you navi will be unlocked.
So for you to get your navi code you have to take out the trunk liner
by where the navi is & check for the serial number under the dvd unit.
Call the stealership & give them that serial number then they should give you the 4 digit code.

FYI, the original navi and radio codes (they are separate codes, one is 4 digits and one is 5 digits) were printed on a plastic card the size of a business card and included with the paperwork for the car.
Owners sometimes put the code card in the owner's manual (there's also space for them to be written into the manual); some used car dealers put the code card in the spare tire compartment with the trunk nets.
Mechanics might have written the codes on stickers placed in the glove box or on top of the hood fuse box if the car was regularly serviced at a dealership.
You can also check to see if the car and codes are registered @ the Acura owner website @ http://owners.acura.com.
If all else fails, to get the codes by phone from a dealer, you'll need the serial number for the radio, but just the car's VIN for the Navi code.
G/L.

Tried to get the codes from my acura and it locked my vin number because it kept telling me the zip/vin/phone numbers were incorrect.
No such luck finding the plastic card with the numbers on it anywhere.OR try this to see if it works while locked out..

How to retrieve 4 digit Navi Code
Scrolling through the various threads on Acura Navi Codes and how to retrieve I found a sure fire method to retrieve your code. I have an '05 and '11 RL. Main display screen and trunk mounted Navi DVD reader failed. I obtained replacement screen and player from LQK salvage yard in Daytona Beach. Total cost $50 ($15 screen and ($35 drive).
Upon install I did not know 4 digit Navi Code. First obtain serial number off the trunk mount dvd player. Usually 3 letters and 8 digits. You can retrieve from bottom of unit or through the "not so secret menu" see related threads. Next, call Acura Customer Support and follow prompts to get to Navigation support. 800-382-2238.
When you reach a Representative explain the circumstances - in my case Navi player replacement. Rep asked for serial number and VIN of the vehicle in which the unit is now installed. BINGO. Simple and easy as pie.
Note: Don't reccomended calling Dealership. They will want an hour diagnostic fee.
Good Luck.
