Radio Channel No DVD Drive

Quick question:

So I plan doing the Nexus 7 install, but temporarily, I decided to sell the DVD drive.

Now I cannot see what FM or XM channel I am on. Is the DVD required to display this? I thought it would show on the sub-display even without the DVD drive.

So is that correct? If I do the N7 install does the channel show on the sub-display and/or the tablet?

There's no interface between the radio and the tablet so you would not be getting any display there.

Yeah. I have not done the tablet integration yet.

Only thing I took out was the DVD Drive and now the sub-display is not displaying the radio station anymore. Only climate controls and the time is being displayed.

they are all weirdly integrated so it may be entirely possible that you need the dvd drive in there to get all display functionalities. when you do the tablet install make sure you leave the brain of the navigation and only remove the lcd screen.

if you haven't seen my DIY, check it out and it might give you some tips/help
