Quick Navi Question

Hello, all. Just a quick question about the TL 06 Navi system

Does the multi-information display on a TL 06w/Navi show the trip information (where to turn / street name ) when one is using the navigation system??

My dad's S500 w/navi shows the same information (not map) on the little lcd beneath the speedometer. Thanks, all.

No. That's a cool feature of the Mercedes system, but the Acura one doesn't do that.

That said, the navi system in my in-laws brand new GL450 absolutely sucks compared to the one in the Acura. For example, it doesn't even list stores (shopping) in the POIs. It lists shopping centers, but you're screwed if you don't know which shopping center a particular store is in, let alone if it isn't even in a shopping center.

We were in Reno with it earlier this month and any time we tried to find things in town, we'd have to tell it Reno, NV, not Reno, TX. WTF?!

No, it doesn't. However, that would be overkill for the following operational reasons:
1) the Acura Navi screen will split-screen to show the street/road/freeway name and direction you are to turn about 15-30 seconds before the change in direction is necessary.
2) In addition, a voice prompt will tell you where to turn, change lanes, etc., so you don't even need to look for directions. It's like having one's spouse read directions from a map, except that the Navi's directions will actually you to the intended destination without the "Are you sure??" dialogue... The nice thing is, the voice prompt can be set for male or female voice, and can be turned off if you desire (unlike the spouse...).
3) You can also touch the Navi screen indicator for "Direction List" to pull up the entire list of text directions for display on the screen in big letters in place of the road map or split-screen, too. I don't know if you can do that by voice command, as it is not one of the items I use much.

Oh, and to add to bluenoise's comment above, a friend's 2006 E350 Navi is antiquated, imprecise and user-hostile compared to the TL's navi system.
