Questions about upgrading factory sound system
hi, im john. this is my first post on the forums and i have a few questions.
ok, so im adding a couple of 10w7s for sub bass. id like to keep a mid-bass driver for stuff between the 60-200 hz range in the factory sub woofer location, and replace the factory speakers.
so, two questions come to mind.
1) where are the factory amplifiers for the speakers and sub?
2) say if i wanted to use the factory amps to power my speakers and mid bass, would i be able to adjust the crossover frequencies to my likings?
the way its unfolding right now id like to do the 10w7s w/ a jl 1000/1, CDT eurosport components all around, and an Adire extremis midbasss (6.5) in the factory sub location.

I don't think you need a midbass. The W7's will handle all the lowend-lowendmid stuff. Your speakers will handle the mids.
Idk if you will need a capacitor or not
with a 600watt amp my lights do not dim or anything and i dont have a capacitor. Idk how the battery will react to a 1000watt burden though.
The amplifier is by the passenger seat kickpanel.
EDIT: I forgot to add. I dont think the stock amp is good enough to power aftermarket speakers, you may have to switch out the stock amp too.
