This may be a stupid question but is a DVD Audio disc different from a DVD Video disc?I mean the disc it self not the way you burn the info. I bought a pack of DVD -R disc and made a music DVD on my Mac using Toast 7. My TL would not play it and spit it out.

Can you guys tell me what I might be doing wrong.

A simple answer is , DVD-Audio is different from DVD-Video. Files are stored differently on a DVD for each format.

The general DVD structure has two main folders: VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS.

For DVD-Video, encoded video files (VOB, IFO, BUP) are stored in the VIDEO_TS folder.

For DVD-Audio, encoded audio, song menu, and lyrics (AOB, IFO, BUP, etc) are stored in the AUDIO_TS (and possibly the VIDEO_TS) folder.

All home DVD players will support DVD-Video, but only a select few will support DVD-Audio.

Special software is usually used to create DVD-Audio compliant disks. Since you are using a Mac, I would search the forum to see what program works for you. Most of the popular names you find on here are for Windows.

BTW, the TL does favor DVD-R over DVD+R so you are okay in that area. Good luck!
