Question about navi disk?

I bought my 07 Type S yesterday, and I thought for sure it was supposted to come with a disk for the navi, but after asking my 75 year old sales lady, she said the 07's dont come with one?

is this true?

if so that why do i have the dvd changer or whatever the little player in my trunk is?

thanks guys..... and i just love my new type S

It does come with one from the factory. It left the docs in Japan with a Navi disc inside the player.

What pilotman said. I am assuming you bought it used as it would be tough to find a new 07 still on the lot. In this case, I'm not sure what the dealer's obligation is. In any event, ask the dealer if he will in good faith get one for you.

Did you get it from an Acura dealer? If so, just ask another salesman and they will point you in the right direction. Wait.......Is your navi working right now? If so, you already have a DVD in the drive. What does your screen say?

The TL is built in Marysville, Ohio with the Honda Accord. If he had one shipped from Japan, I want to see it.

Honestly IDK how it is working without the DVD. If your Navi is working than there should be a disc in the trunk.. Double check. And I am pretty sure that all TL's with Navi come with the disc to allow the damn thing to work. lol

If there is no disk you will get a message on screen almost as soon as you start your car. Something about incorrect disk. I don't think you'll make to the "OK" Screen without a disk.

Pehaps your "eject" button on thr trunk player is defective.

You can ask for a new disk. But expect them to ask for $180.

I think pilotman knew that the TL is built in Ohio as did I. The thought was that maybe the DVD player itself came from Japan (or even China).

You need an orange disc RonJonTL757. I believe the current version of orange is 3.80. The white disc will not work in 05 TL factory unit.

I think that's the general line of thinking.

I've seen a lot of users saying that at that price they'd only update every 2nd or 3rd year (if that). But using that link you can also see what changes have been made version-to-version, to help you decide if it's worth the money.

Personally, I am 2 years and 3 update behind, but ~$180 ahead.

I think am going to break down and buy the stupid DVD soon since I am on the original 2004 database. I don't plan on doing this again for the next 4 years.
