PS2 Install Questoin...
I was wondering is it possible to install a PS2 Slim with only a DOM Unit.
I ask because the DOM unit does not have an Audio Input/Output. I know a few people use USASpec PA11-HON2y to obtain sound for the PS2.
How do I get sounds from the ps2? Do i top the RED/WHITE RCA to the factory speakers?

you will need a sound adapter for the audio. There are many options that you can go with:
USA SPEC HON2Y
DICE
PHERPHERIAL (sp?)
and there are a few older ones with a few quirks such as the PIE unit.
I would say go with the pherperial one if you have an IPOD, want TEXT and XM Text, and want HD radio too.

i hooked mine up the other day. Make sure you order a cigarette lighter plug for your Slim PS2 so you dont' have to use a power inverter. I bought mine off ebay. Ran it up through the center console to the 12v accessory plug. Works great. I also wired up the USASpec PA11-HON2y. works great! love the ipod feature. Didn't think I would because I don't use an ipod .but this feature made it nice and easy!

The easiest place to keep it out of the way is under the driver seat. I actually test fit a PS3 under the driver seat. It works as long as you don't drop the seat down all the way.
The good thing about having a PS3 under the driver seat is the cooling issue. There is a floor vent under there that lines up with the back of the PS3 intake/exhaust fans. This way when you are running the PS3 you run the AC and you won't have to worry about it over heating. I figured the best way to install it would be to hook up a Farad Capacitor in the trunk thats Remote wire to turn on the farad is hooked up to the radio. Then you hook your power inverter up to the Farad Cap. This way you won't have to worry about having to switch it off every time you turn off the car.
I also think that the Bluetooth remotes would work great to turn the PS3 on and off. Only prob I can see is that it wouldn't be high def so it would look like POO! When a PS3 is in non high def the text becomes hard to read. So using it to surf web pages may not be pleasant on the eyes. Oh well if I decide to do it I will take pics. I have pics of my PS2 install at the house. Will post tonight.

If you have the AUX input already in the center console and it isn't being used by anything, couldn't you just get an RCA to speaker plug adapter from RadioShack and just run the cord under and into the center console and just plug it into there to get the PS2 audio?
