Problems with Syncing Razr V3

So I just bought the Motorola Razr V3 and I tired setting it up in the car but after I say phone setup, the lady speaks and then I say pair and nothing happens. I said pair in a number of tones and voices and even normally and it still didn't do anything...

Anybody with suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks

It seems that the way it works is that putting the HFL on the car in 'pair' mode is just setting the HFL to 'discoverable.'

As I recall, when I set mine up, I still had to choose Bluetooth -> Handsfree -> [Look for Devices] on the V3. The V3 found the Acura HFL, and I was able to pair them with a security code. A little tricky, but once set up, it automatically binds to the car every time I get in.

The security code? Hmm, is that one you setup yourself or are you given one?

Don't forget to hit the button *beep!* on the steering wheel before every command. I was sitting there saying pair....pair.....pair.... until I realized that I had to hit the button *beep!* every time you're going to say something, like after she gives you the phone setup options....

So, after she says blah blah blah pair, I hit the button *beep!* and then said "pair"... then went through the rest, and it worked like a charm with my Moto V551. I assume the Razr is the same.

Bluetooth is cool, I found that with my Apple Powerbook 17" the built-in Mac BT implementation didn't need any additional hardware OR software to talk to my phone. Now I've got my 04TL Anthracite for my wallpaper!

oh that helped!! Thanks bro. Now does it matter whether or not I drop the Bluetooth on the phone and in the car?! I would like to just start the car and it already be linked...

Any problems wit leaving my phone and car still linked to Bluetooth together?

From what I can tell, once it's linked, it's linked. You've entered the 'PIN' number that you used to 'confirm' that the link is valid, and you don't have to do that ever again (barring weird problems). Whenever you enter the car and start it up, if the phone is with you and the BT is turned on, it will link automagically. You'll see the phone icon in the top stack readout, between the temperature digits. I used a tip I read about here where you program a short cut key on your phone to power BT on and off. Heard about that?.... it saves battery, leaving BT on all the time is a battery hog. I'll try and step you thru that if you want..... Motos should be pretty similar....

Razr is awesome with TL, but of course there is always something unpleasant has to be there. Unless you charge your Razr all the time, turning and leaving the BT on will drain the battery like crazy. Once linked it keeps searching for the HF device.... my battery dies fast.

So I turn the BT off when i get home or work... Turn it back on when i drive around

WHen you call a certain number and have to hit an extension, I tried hitting the beep and then the numbers but when I was sayin 217, it kept going 017 or 2017 or 2170, and then 0217. I tried 0217 and it wouldn't work so is that a flaw or do i need to pick up the phone for that one?
