Problem Pairing RAZR to TL'04
Problem Pairing RAZR to TL'04
I have an 04 TL and I'm trying to pair my Motorola RAZR V3m and my the HFL gets hang-up in the process.
The sequence of events goes like this: I do the "phone setup"... "pair"..."enter pin" (I enter PIN) then when the display says "paring..." I'm able to find the HFL bluetooth and the phone asked if I want to bond the HFL, I say yes, it asks to enter the PIN (which I do). At this point the phone "looks" like it likes the PIN and flashes very quickly back to the bluetooth menu; the second time I try to enter the PIN the phone says "invalid PIN". At this point my car's HFL hungs-up, i.e., the HFL doesn't work an the stereo is in phone mode, unfunctional. The the only way to reset it is to remove/plug the fuse for the interior light (where the HFL unit is).
Has anyone experience something like this? I tryed to look at older threads but didn't find anything similar

Are you trying to pair from the phone or from the car? You should be doing it from the car. The only thing you do on the phone itself is put it into discovery mode, let the car find it and then enter the pin from the phone. It sounds like you're trying to do most of the pairing from the phone, you don't you do it from the car.
Thanks for your answer, I followed the direction in handsfreelink.com for my phone/carrier and bonding the phone is part of the process:

But after step 14 the car locks up. Has anyone experience this with this phone? I notice my car has the HFL module early version that had some bugs, I was wondering if this might be the problem or I'm doing something wrong

The only thing I can tell you is that I go through a lot of phone (at my job I'm the unofficial tester). I've probably paired 12 different phones, and they all work. Sometimes you don't get all the features but they do pair. The only time I've run into problems is when I tried to re-pair a smartphone that I had to format. I had to delete, and then wait overnight to pair it.
Hope you get the answer.
