Problem with my iSimple

Hey everyone, I am having an issue with my iSimple adapter and I just wanted to see if anyone else has run into a similar problem. It has been working fine for the better part of a year, but just the other day it started malfunctioning. I plug my iPhone (non-3G) into the adapter and get the request for Airplane mode like usual and I go to switch to iPod mode on XM, but it tells me that there is no iPod connected. It will also no longer charge the phone.

Any ideas?

Perform a reset of the module by unplugging the harness, waiting 15 minutes and then going back through the initial setup as described in the instructions.

Anyone here been having a problem with the Random Album mode on? When that's on for me the iSimple goes crazy. Ipod not connected, then connected, then plays a song, then disconnects, and just keeps changing between connected states and disconnected states. Other than that it works fine. I have iPod TOuch 2G with 5V cable.

Also, on a side note, does the iPod KEEP on charging when the car is turned off? I mean I don't want the iPod to be draining my battery (it probably won't but still). SHouldn't everything just turn off when the car is off? Sorry for asking this in multiple threads, but I didn't get an answer from my last one either.

For the OP, maybe firmware? on Both the iPhone and the iSimple?

I noticed that the phone will still charge when the engine is off. Was wondering about draining the battery as well. Figured it won't drain - unless left overnight.
If am wrong, please speak up.

when i first start my car and i hit mode (on the steering wheel) to change from FM to XM to CD etc. it takes forever to switch, regardless if my 3g iphone is plugged into the isimple. I usually have to repeatedly hit mode about 25+ times until the mode button acts properly. Anyone else getting this lag from switching modes?

im on firmware .36e
