Problem with CD

Hey mods, if you dont mind for today at least leave this thread here. I know it belongs on AUDIO.

But here is my problem.

My RADIO works fine, XM radio works fine. All except CD player. All of the sudden I press CD and the display switches to CD, but it doesnt play. I press eject and does not want to eject either. If I leave it on CD for too long waiting for something to happen my radio shuts off and the only way I can turn it on is by turning the car off and on again.

Anyone knows if CD player ITSELF has a fuse? I dont have warranty. What tips do you wise people have for me?

Thank you.

I don't think there's a separate fuse for the cd only. The CD is part of the radio as one whole piece. Try unplugging the radio fuse for a few minutes and see if it will reset your whole audio system. Only do this is you have the anti-theft code coz the system will prompt you to put that in as soon as the system is back on.

When you try to eject a CD or change from one CD to another, do you hear any noise - kind of mechanical clicking noises?

If so, then you've got power.

No noise. But the display changes as if it where all normal operation. But no mechanical movement inside. I then change it fast to radio becuase if I wait too long the radio will shut off.

Mind you that the radio does not turn off at all if I stick to anything but CD.

When our '02 got a stuck CD, it'd act normal, whirring and clicking, etc, but it wouldn't *do* anything.

I was thinking you might have CD stuck or maybe the carousel broke.

Well I unplugged the battery, even took out the radio fuse. At least i got it to eject my CD's, they load ok but at times when ejecting they come out SLOW. The cd is recognized then shows tracks. But does not start to play.
