Power Antenna question

I have a aftermarket headunit install, Pioneer avic-700bt w/ HD receiver. My HD radio jumps between analog and digital signal all the time. I have done some search, and need some help. According to crutchfield information, Pin #10 is power antenna; does it need to be connnect to any power source? if so where can i connect it to.

pin 10 "The YW/GN wire triggers the booster for the in-glass antenna"

Also i have installed a aftermarket amp, can the OEM power amp be completely removed without causing any problem.

thanks

Not sure about any OEM antenna boosters, but that power antenna lead can be used as a remote wire for the amp.

I believe the "power antenna" would be for if a vehicle had a retractable antenna, just a guess.
