I leave mine in the armrest but I know who will blast this thread open. JPTL04 he has his modded into the cup holders. And has two seperate connections so all he has to do is flip it around. And he has it CF'd out too. There's also a member on here that modded the radio cassette opening to hold an iPod/iPhone and has the Isimple wire in there too. Check the electronics section for his thread.

Well I haven't used mine in about 2 years (it was the fm adapter thing) but when I did use it I plugged the adapter into the cigarette lighter thing and it had a stand where I placed my ipod so I could face it towards me and easily look at it and change to another song etc.

I bought this a little over a year ago. Doesn't marked up your interior and looks clean. The only issue I have is that it comes loose at the passenger seat bolt every once in awhile. Re-tightening it fixes the problem for another 3 months.
Also the cradle is COMPLETELY universal, not just for Apple products.

I just keep mine on the door over the cup holders.

My phone rests on the passenger side of the shift boot. (6MT, iPhone 4) I don't rest it on the driver side because it does get in the way of the shifting but there is enough clearance on the passenger side to put it there without a worry.

I have both iSimple wires threaded through the center console and I keep my iPod in there all the time. I got a used iPod off eBay so I just never take it out unless I need to update it with new things I've put in my library.

And from the passengers side.

Absolutely. As long as you have an XM button you're good to go.

that's how it appears on a navi equipped car. It also appears on the pseudo HUD/information center at the top.
It's easy to control, the right knob becomes a scroll wheel in a sense and you can navigate the menus and songs just by turning it back and forth.
your steering wheel buttons also work and you can change tracks and so forth.
The numbered buttons on the radio 1-6 become function keys. 6 is "select", 5 is "back", 1 is repeat, 3 and 4 are rewind and fast forward respectively i think. You'll have to read the manual as I barely use those buttons. with the isimple you dont need your iphone/ipod out in the open. Leave it in the glovebox or center console depending on where you route the cable.
Acura also provides a cutout in the center console for this exact purpose:

X2. It's perfect. It's long enough so you can have the door slide halfway open for one drink and still rest the ipod/iphone on the other half. Or if you have the door fully closed you can extend the armrest to the front.
The dins/"not ashtrays" below the radio aren't a bad second choice or inside the armrest if you don't need to access it frequently.
