Possible for Speakers??
Possible for Speakers??
Is it possible for the speakers to blow if I turn the radio or CD player up to loud? lol I like to listen to my music loud and didn't know if they had a safety in place for this..
Based on this thread:
Factory Stereo Blows!!!
I'd say the speakers won't blow at max volume. I've not tested it though.

lol someone gave me bad reputation points for this. guess you can't ask a question these days without making someone mad.. I did search but I guess I didn't type in the right keywords.. Thanks Acura_driver!! ;-)
While I never intend to find out, a grossly distorting amplifier is putting a trermendous amount of spurious garbage into the speakers. Even though they might survive, it is very possible that the alignment of the voice coil could go off-center, which will deteriorate the sound quality at any volume level. If the system is audibly distorting, turn it down - save your sound quality, and perhaps your hearing over the long haul.
Most speakers are blown from amplifier clipping (distorting), and putting that garbage into the speakers as Road Rage mentioned. As long as the music you're playing isn't distorted and still sounds clear and distortion free, you'll probably be OK. Make sure you don't turn up the bass and treble to the max, that will almost certainly distort the amplifier, making clipping distortion happen much sooner.
