Point of Center Speaker?
Hello all, new to the TL and loving my '05 so far. I have totally stock audio and recently muted my center speaker. In my opinion, the audio is actually much better without it and I also feel like I get a better stereo effect. This leads me to my question:
If you're not going to listen to DVD-A, what is the point of the center speaker at all? Am I really missing anything if I just pretend like it isn't there?

Welcome! and a Houston member too!
I muted the navi voice from the center, as i dont use the navi that much.
I also create my own DVD-A's and i feel that there is no loss.
hope this helps.
btw, we have meets all the time. Check out the Houston thread in the Regions section.
we have a meet to Austin this weekend!!

I make my own DVD-A's all the time... mainly cause I use 24bit FLACs and love the SQ....
either way.... i have found that the center channel off the factory amp is not much at all. but still get some out of it.

What's the point of making DVD-A out of audio tracks that weren't encoded that way in the first place? Just seems like an invented desire because the thing will play it. I'd be all for it if it was a popular format, but DVD-A never caught on.
With HFL not requiring center, it smells like a boondoggle to me
