Plain ole car starter!

Hey guys,

I've been searching the forums for the past hour and i can't seem to find the right answer =[... I've read that in order to get a car starter in your car you would need to get a whole new alarm system and your old acura remote won't work anymore.

My question, is there anyway i can just get a seperate remote that ONLY starts the car? without any other options, and i still retain the controls on my acura key fob? I was looking around and to install a compustar or some other key fob is hella pricy! its like:

300 for the remote
150 for installation
50 for unlock/lock
50 for imoblizer

etc.. so is there a way i can get something installed where i keep all my old acura remote and have an extra remote just to start the car? i really dont mind carrying around two controllers that dont bother me at all.........

yes

look at the Compustar P1BAM or P1BAM900-SH

http://compustar.com/products/cs/RF-1BAM-900SH.html

http://compustar.com/products/cs/RF-1BAM.html

we charge $100 for the 1BAM and $140 for the 900-SH. The transponder interface we sell is $85, and labor is ~$180.

Your factory remote will still work (you will just need to use the remote start transmitter to unlock when remote started), and the new transmitter is about the size of a quarter.
