People with the Moto V710...in here please...

I will be switching to Verizon in a few eeks when my current ontract is over.

I know the V710 is the only Verizon phone with bluetooth that will hook up with the TL. For those of you that have the V710...what are you experiences with it?

I was originally gonna go with the Samsung 670...but that doesn't have bluetooth.

works fine for me. I got the extended battery and leave bluetooth on all the time on the phone and I get 4-5 days out of it, i talk enough, and when i get in and out of my car the phone automatically connects.

good to go

I've had my 710 for about a month. I waited for the price drop and the software to get finalized for use in the TL. Very happy with phone overall, and HFL is very useful, although I thought the audio quality would be a bit better.

Just got mine a few days ago. Everything works great. The first time I made a call via the voice recognition feature, my kids sitting in back were totally blown away. Real Buck Rodgers stuff!

I have had the phone for about a month now and it works very well. I have not had any problems with the phone hooking up to handsfree link and the sound quality is pretty good. I had a Sony Ericsson before that and the sound quality was a bit better when it wasn't crackling. Overall I am very pleased with the phone!

bt works fine, but the phone itself is horrible in almost every perspective compared to a samsung phone.

Run a search on the V710 and you'll get a bunch of opinions, both good and bad. I have not had any problems with it since upgrading to the new firmware. Pairs with HFL, great clarity, and shows signal and battery strength.

Mine has been fine. Had it since August 2004 and I have not updated to the new firmware because I keep forgetting, but have not had any problems.

it works great for a phone, and using it with the TL.... but don't buy it to take pictures inside... pictures outside or in a lot of light are decent, but inside, even during the day, the quality is terrible... it isn't much better in better light.... like ndx2 said, the phone itself isn't all that great, it certainly isnt bad though if you're buying it as a phone. Verizon does have a couple more options, i think they have a treo or some other "pda" type phone that has BT.

The phone's great, the bluetooth functionality is fantastic, and the built-in speakerphone is very handy, especially when I'm in my non-HFL equipped vehicles.

The built-in camera is awful, so I won't be getting rid of my Nikon Coolpix any time soon!

Regards,

I've had my v710 for almost a year now and apart from some issues with the charge port on the phone (i'm on my third phone now, the second one was broken by a Verizon tech when I went in for the firmware upgrade) the phone has worked great (remember it's a phone with a camera, not the other way around, the camera has lots of problems with low light). It has the best rf of any verizon phone I've had and works in many areas that my girlfriend's Samsung a670 doesn't. The latest version of the firmware works very well and the bluetooth works well (at least for handsfree operation). If you want more information, go to howardforums.com and check the verizon wireless forum

I hate the phone. I love the bluetooth. The software sucks, the camera sucks. But damn...I love that Bluetooth!

I've had the phone since November & haven't done the upgrade yet. Bluetooth works great-- my car is now my favorite place for making phone calls. It was easy to set up-- just like in the manual. I keep my phone on vibrate, & bluetooth enabled. Verizon coverage is good around here. Battery life is good. Camera is not particularly good, & phone features are not well set up. But bluetooth functionality makes it worthwhile.

HFL works great and I have no issues. Seamless integration.

www.v710.org

Lots of info there on how Verizon crippled bluetooth for everything but hands free stuff.

Bitches.

I'll just echo what most have said here. Camera is useless, BT crippled, and there is a memory card slot from which you used to be able to transfer ringtones to and from, but that has been disabled as well. That being said, Verizon is supposed to release a couple new BT phones soon. A new Motorola and a LG. Also the Treo650 should be out as well. I've had the V710 since release and other than being able to connect to HFL, there is absolutely nothing special about it except that it is now dirt cheap.

DO NOT GET THE V710!!!!!

not unless you want to join the class action suit against Verizon.

Details: https://acurazine.com/forums/ramblings-12/got-myself-little-20cc-moped-116394/

Overall, it sucks compared to my older nokia 6800, an even the 6800 isn't the best on the market. But the V710 doesn't hold a candle to the 6800 in terms of functionality.

Never understood why anyone would buy a phone because of the camera anyway. Seems to me that if you want to take pictures, use a real camera.

(As I've said elsewhere, I wish the v710 didn't have a camera. I can't take the phone into the courthouse because of it.)

Phones are becoming all-in-one devices. For example: Rogers communications (Canada) is coming up with TV on their phones soon. I don't like the latest trends in cell phones as they're becoming more toys than tools.

Personally, I rarely use the camera since I have my digital SLR with me almost all the time.
