Overhead Dash display intermittent

Recently, the display at the top of the dash, the one with the clock, temp setting display, etc. frequently requires me to tap on it to light up. Paul says that's likely the circuit board within. A new OEM is $510! Ouch!! Found one on ebaY for $45. Hopefully, that will fix my issue. It appears the non-Nav version is only a clock with time set buttons.

I had one of these in my hand at the junk yard yesterday. Probably would have cost only a few bucks, but it was an '06 and I can't use it.

I did, however, take an entire gauge cluster, since my lens has always had a deep scratch in it. Turns out that puppy runs almost $900 from Honda! (The entire assembly, not just the lens)

Should have grabbed it! Same display panel fits all '04/5/6 with Navigation.

not an issue with the panel but the navi conversion IMO. Mine is doing the same since doing the swap. Checked all the wires and even swapped in a used unit with same result. Same with passenger logo on upper display for HVAC.

I'm having same issues with my 07 TL-S w/navi (I assume all 07-08 TL-S came with navi?) ANyway it's a diff P/N than the 04-06 panels so I've been hold off. OEM cost is about $350 from online e-tailers and Iassume dealer cost/honda OEM cost is likely $500 or so. It does get a bit annoying sometimes when its so dark you can't read anything but it works enough for now that I'll hold off on getting it replaced for now. If Iget adventurous enough Imay take it apart andsee if there's anyway to resolder/button up the connections...I'll have to keep an eye out for a junkyard/used part for cheap.

Mine has had the same issue, it seems to be a fairly common problem. It's usually caused by the electrical connection in the rear getting lose/not making good contact internally. It's possible to disassemble it and re-solder the connection if you want to try fixing it yourself. You may be able to temporarily solve it by using a piece of cardboard or folded up paper to hold the connection in place like the last post on this thread.

Thanks for the link there. Definitely seems like an option rather than buying a new unit for now.

Good sh!t, mine just started flickering last week. Hope this solves mine.

Altho I have been removing my entire nav screen a buncha times recently to replace all burnt out nav button bulbs. The excessive remove/re-install probably jossled something loose.
