Does anyone know if our Navigation screen display is made by Alpine or Panasonic or perhaps by someone else? On the back of it, there is no sticker indicating who makes it except for the letters "TB" and a made in the USA sign.

Without checking it out myself, this is the only help I can offer. In the out of warranty exchange bulletin, they list this as options:

Alpine - CM, CD, MR, or MF
Clarion - PH
Fujitsu Ten -CE or SD
Panasonic - CQ or CR
Pioneer - KEH or DEH

Doesn't seem to help you much though, sorry. Just putting it out there.

 

One LCD I have is a Toshiba model LTA080B172A

I'm working on replacing the existing LCD with a VGA LCD so I have a couple laying around that are broken. I am not sure what year the one I looked at came out of.

 

The CDrom/DVD drive in trunk is labeled Alpine if this helps atleast most does.

 

I see on the back the letters "TD" in bold. So i am not sure how to ID it.

 

Does anyone know if the serial number on the white sticker on the back of the display starts with the letters mentioned by aucratech239?

After taking apart my navigation screen assembly I saw that the circuit boards are made by a company called "Sumitomo Electric". The LCD is made by Toshiba as mentioned above in this thread.

So I guess Alpine only makes the DVD control unit in the trunk.

 

i read somewhere alpine fixes the dvd drives in the trunk if they ever go bad... any idea if this is true?

 

Yep that is true. I was hoping that they do the same for the screen display unit, but since it isn't made by them, I highly doubt they would even look at it.
