One more Ipod Integration question

I have the itouch gen 2.. I know about the isimple and the dice... What i have read about them is that there both about the same.. or are they??

What my question is.. Is there a integration that will allow you to control it all through the ipod itself??? Not through the radio unit..?????

I am unsure of the units you have named, but some integration solutions have HYBRID modes where you can control the ipod from the radio and ipod itself. My USASPEC HON2Y does that. I think the dice does that too.

The peripheral allows you to control the ipod from the ipod itself in AUX1 mode ..

DICE = more "bugs" and "DICE failures" in terms of posts on this site to date... however, in all fairness, it has been out much longer than the peripheral PXAMG.

I would get a peripheral PXAMG.. case closed (IMHO) -- control your ipod via ipod or the center console stock headunit

I installed my Dice unit a few weeks back, and although I had to go through a replacement unit with them, it's working perfectly now. I heard their product used to be less prone to bugs compared to now. My unit actually fried two of my older iPods, so I'm still nervous to plug anyone else's iPod to it besides my Touch (which works perfectly now).

Although the Dice works fine with my Touch, I'd agree with PeterUbers and recommend the product from Peripheral. A lot of members here bought one and it sounds like they are extremely satisfied with their purchase.

If you do buy a Dice unit. You can either control your iPod through the radio/steering wheel controls, OR control the iPod by hand yourself. If you want the text to be displayed on your TL's screens, you have to give up your XM, which I don't think you need to do with the Peripheral.

It sounds like you are requesting to have an Aux input which means no control or display from the head unit or steering wheel. Most of the integration units have a mode for ipod only control as well as an Aux input. I believe you can also purchase cheaper integration units that provide an Aux input only.
