OEM Navigation Information

Sorry if most of these can be searched, in a hurry!

Anyways, do 04 NAVI fit 06? 07-08 NAVI fit in a 06?

I have a Non-NAVI NBP and what will I need to make sure I have when I buy a NAVI used. I found a local craigslist ad selling the NAVI system and I always wanted NAVI so its time. What else should I know? I know I must have a security code just in case from the seller.

How much does something like this cost to get installed at a mechanic or dealer? I can probably DIY, but I'm not sure in doing this, especially when wires are involved.

Thanks for the help!

If you convert 04 Navi into 06, there's not much difference, just minor things that you need to change. If you convert 07-08 Navi into 06, you need to make sure you have the HFL unit (08), sub-display screen and connectors (all types). Dealer won't do this conversion because there's a lot of things to do. But if you're lucky you might run into someone(ziner) here who can install it for you for a few hundreds.

jptl04 may help you for the installation.

For the harness
I've heard that people from ebay sell at $499 for 04/06 and a bit more for 07/08 version.

That's what I'm talking about. When I say harness, I met the wires. If you think it's too expensive for you, then I guess it's best if you customize your own harness so that it'll be cheaper for you.

How much you think it will cost for a full NAVI conversion assuming I get the NAVI screen, cd/dvd.

I don't see no wiring harnesses on eBay or anything like that...

All depends on if you want 04/06 or 07/08, and install now or later?

It's approximately, $1200-$1500.

For the wiring harness, you need to search the junkyard near where you live or other states, maybe in Canada as well. Normally, they remove the system and they scrap out the harness. Now, they know because so much ziners or peoples looking for this harness so they jack up the price or sell the whole unit with harness for more money. Therefore, the guy from ebay named is "Martin" sold a lot these harness to the ziners. For me, I can't affort to buy that harness for $600...That's why I build my own

You still need more parts then the navi screen and dvd.. If purchased new it comes to around 500.00. Plus, you still need the wiring harness either made by yourself or purchased from someone. I asked jptl04 and this guy martin on ebay.. and they both wanted more than 300.00 for the wiring harness because it is a pain to make.

I just asked Martin about just the connectors and you can get the full set for $120.

The connectors are hard to come by since there aren't too many people crazy enough to do this project. I ended up going with unassembled aftermarket connectors for some of the wiring and wasn't happy with the build compared to the genuine versions.
