I own a 2006 and will start purchasing parts to start my installation. Is it worthed to try to get 07-08 Nav? I know the display will have some problems. It is not exactly plug and play.or should I go with 06 parts?

 

It's really up to you. The 04-06 parts are cheaper because they are in less demand than 07-08. I'm in the middle of doing the conversion right now. If I were you, I'd go with the 07-08 parts. Just makes more sense.

 

07-08 nav is updated compared to the 04-06, you can do the conversion but the HFL unit will have to change as well as the radio. Martin can make the harness for you which makes the conversion easier. just tell him you have an 04-06 but youre putting in the 07 nav. The connector head is the only difference for the nav screen on the 07 when talking about the physical insall and martins harness can take care of that.

if i had to do my whole nav conversion over again, i would look into puttin in the 07 parts but then again the price was not to my liking. it was easier to just go with the 04-06

 

With the name of this subject will some one please post a list of parts and part #'s needed for the conversion and possible a how to do it or links to this info to help make it a little easier for ones that would like to do this and have to search high and low in other posts to find this info. May even prevent the same questions being asked time and time again with this subject name that can be found easy in a search.
