Non-Navi Bluetooth: why not like headsets

I have found my jawbone headset to be the best bluetooth device, as it allows you to connect and use all the available commands for the phone. What I wonder is this: why can't Acura build their HFL to act the same way. The current interface sucks, frankly - it only has a fraction of the functionality of a headset. Does anyone know of a hack that lets the HFL perform like a headset, without using the Acura menus?
