NON-nav iPod hook up?
ive searched and the hook ups ive found seem to be difficult and pricey. are there any easy ways to hook up an iPod (30GB) and not spend a fortune and take you hours to install?

I am assuming you have an '04-'06 TL since the '07 have aux-in that can be used to connect any music player.
The two simplest methods (applies to both non-nav and nav):
Both methods require no installation. The cassette adapter can be purchased at your local Kmart/Target/Walmart for around $10. The FM transmitter range from around $20-$100+ and depending on area, you might experience interference. You can perform a search on here for popular brands and recommendations.
A wired solution will give you the best quality. I've outlined the popular modules here: 3G TL Audio & Electronics FAQ

- cassette adapter: inexpensive way to "broadcast" your iPod music through the cassette deck.
- FM transmitter: an affordable way to wirelessly broadcast your iPod music by hijacking an unused FM station.
