Nokia 6682 - Anyone have this problem with HFL and Bluetooth?
Ok, today I got a new Nokia 6682 from Cingular, I was able to successfully pair the phone with the HFL. I can make a call, but after I hang up the HFL/Bluetooth Connection dies and I am unable to make a second call.
Trying to force the phone to make a connection fails as well.
I am thinking this is a firmware issue with the phone, but I need to find others with the same issue.
Thanks,
MG

2004 Acura TL - cingular is sending me a new phone today - they swear it must be a hardware defect, lets hope so.
my problems are with bluetooth on the 6682 loosing connection with the HFL system after you hang up the call.
there are other oddities like once I answer the phone via HFL,after the conversation was over - the HFL systems stayed in phone mode the entire drive home and I could not get out of it, i turned off the phone, hit hang up on the wheel, etc - nothing worked except turning off the car.
i never had a problem with my 3650, 3620, moto v551, or t68i
i hope this is not a nokia 6682 issue and if it is, it can be fixed via firmware
thanks

Any update from anyone on this thread? Is there anyone else out there with a 6682? If so, are you having the same problem?
I'm thinking about getting this phone and would love to hear an update.
Thanks.

I picked up this phone last week. I can verify that it does drop the connection with the car after SOME calls. Not all. It's a real bummer. Hopefully a firmware upgrade will cure this.
Also, I don't get a signal or battery meter on the TL's discplay with this phone.

They're not going to have a different result, if that's what you're hoping for. The problem lies in the phone's software, and until that's updated it'll have these problems. The Acura Hands Free isn't the only hands free the phone has issues with.

I sent my 6682 back - it has other issues not even related to the Acura/HFL issues -
Does your phone ask you copy contact from Sim all the time?
Does your phone loose it's call logs?
Does your phone turn off for no apparent reason?
Does your phone loose it's charge sooner then you expect it to?
If you use bluetooth sync on your PC do you loose connection randomly?
I am waiting for them to upgrade the firmware, I hope they fix it. I loved this phone.
Also - Nokia - rarely (if ever) send battery, signal strength - possibly another reason they don't see fit to fully support the Handsfree Profile (a bluetooth spec)

Yeah, the phone does have the problems you're describing. They all seem software-related and hopefully there will be a fix soon. Below are my experiences with a phone I've had a week.
This only happens sometimes when I power the phone off and on.
Not Every time, but most of the time I turn the phone off and then back on.
This hasn't happened to me yet that I know of.
No, the battery life has been great!
YMMV, of course, but I'm sticking with this phone as the problems that it has aren't deal-breakers for me. And again, they should be remedied by a firmware update sometime soon.

i have the same problem, the phone doesn't get signal or battery metter on the info screen.
the phone asks to put new contacts in every once in a while. it also seems to turn off if you use bluetooth for extended periods of time. the call log problem i think is just to clear memory

I have a nokia 6630... same software family as the 6682...
I have the same problem: the phone pairs-up fine and I can make and receive calls, however, I lose the bluetooth connection after I hang-up (either using the "end" button on the car or the phone, same result... bluetooth connection lost)..

I have a 6620. I have found that if you hit send or adjust volume during the call it will not unpair. It has something to do with an issue with Nokia's BT driver and how it handle multiple BT devices. Try shutting off the other BT headset. A friend with a TSX & 6682 had the same issues. Cingular has started replacing 6682 with E62 if you bitch and complain enough.
