Nokia 6600

I can't get my Nokia 6600 to pair with her. My T610 pairs fine.
Anyone have a Nokia 6600?

Did you buy your 6600 in Chinatown by chance? (white box with grey swirls?) The bluetooth on that phone is impossible I would say. One thing though, I don't think it supports the handsfree profile so you might be out of luck on that one.

I brought my 6600 in Flushing, NY. I forgot how the box looks like. I heard it has problems pairing with some bluetooth headsets too.

6600

Anybody know if the "new" Nokia 6600 that T-Mobile will start selling soon has a working hands-free profile? What about the 6620?

Nokia 6600 may not work with TL. Phones with Bluetooth features ready do not mean they are capable of being paired with 04TL. You need the bluetooth phone with HFL feature before starting to do the pairing. Otherwise, you have to do the firmware upgrade.

Handsfree link is a property of the Acura TL, not the Nokia 6600... What you are looking for is the handsfree profile which very few nokias have. Even a firmware upgrade would not solve this matter.

The 6620 will be the 6600 with edge and some other stuff...I doubt they will have that feature in there as well.

The K700 is nice also. I wouldn't mind getting that.

Thanks for your update. We meant the same thing. Next time I have to use this word "Handsfree Profile" instead.

I was just saying that even a firmware update would not change the characteristics of the bluetooth handsfree profile or handling.

Smile

I heard of two things about the firmware upgrade so far. A long time ago, a memeber mentioned his friend made his P800 working with 04TL after doing upgrade. I believe it's not the official SE firmware. Second, some shops here do the special firmware upgrade or chip modification, too, and one of shops promised my buddy the proper phones could be modded and added with Handsfree profile.

The bottom line is I fortunately don't need to try anything for my phone, T610.

Unless the Bluetooth-enable and Handsfree-profile-ready phones stop working, it's unnecessary to do any upgrade even though there is new firmware officially released by brands. :goldfish:

Maybe you know something we don't know...
