No power to DVD
No power to DVD
I've been trying to fix my Navi which was turning on but not reading the disc.
i bought a new DVD drive to swap out, but while I was waiting for it to arrive, now the DVD player isn't turning on at all, which means I can't get the disc out of the old drive. and I don't think the new drive will work if the main unit isn't powering up.
elsewhere I read that I can check the fusebox. but where is it and what fuses should be checked for the Navi dvd player?
and aside from fuses, is there something else I'm missing?

If so, you can disconnect the battery for a half hour, then reconnect and see if the Navi drive will power up again.
There are two fuse boxes-- the interior fuse box under the dash just above the hood release lever, and one under the hood between the firewall and the air filter box. I think the Navi drive is connected to either fuse #32 or #7 in the interior fuse box. You can try pulling those fuses to see if they are good, and to disconnect power to the drive.
yes, i tried to do the battery disconnect, resetting with the radio code.
I'd previously read about #7 and #32, but on my box those aren't labeled as anything related to the Navi. i'll check them anyway.

No, there is no Navi-specific label. I think one is the radio fuse and the other is the "ACC" fuse.
