Are there any Nextel phones that have bluetooth and will work with the TL? If so, what are they?

(I did a search, could not find anything conclusive)

someone here at work told me there is a bluetooth adapter you can buy for nextel phones which connects via a little dongle to the bottom of the phone but I'm trying to find out what and where...this guy issues all the Nextel phones to employees at my company so I'm assuming he knows what he's talking about. If I fiind out I'll post right away...I have a i90 and just got a 04 TL Navi 1 week ago.

 

there are no current nextel phones/adapter that will work with HFL on the TL. the i605 is supposed to be released sometime early next year will have BT and should work. there has been at least 3 threads in the past 2 weeks with this. you can also check out www.howardforums.com

 

As w1n78 said, I think adapters won't work with 04TL...

Adapters will not work, as you require the phone itself to have a Hands-free-profile. Although, there might be a chance that Nextel (or the adapter manufacturer) will have a software/firmware upgrade for the phone that will include a HFP.

so you are referring to the i605? coz i haven't seen any other models that have BT enabled. i know the i830 and i860 should be hitting stores in a matter of weeks if not days and both don't have BT but i860 has camera.

 

Who cares about cameras and other useless features? The purpose of the thread was to inquire about Nextel BT phones.

Let's just get a bluetooth that works first. I carry a Nikon for darn pics (and it takes upskirt shots just fine :devil: ).

where did you get this info? it's june 1st. i went to the nextel store, they do have the i830 bronze and silver but NO BLUETOOTH! i don't even know why i got my hopes up after reading your post. i knew that i830 won't have BT since no one mentioned it in all the forums i go to. i'm guessing you do work for nextel coz u don't know sh!t about the phone :p

 

Not only does it not have BT but the phone it self is hideous.. just my .02

well i couldn't wait so i got the siemens s56 from cingular. i'm not dropping nextel but now coz of nextel's slow a$$ advancement i'll be having 2 phones. the s56 was only $20 so i couldn't pass it up. works good but hearing the other person is not as clear versus the nextel but is good enough with HFL. it's only a year contract and plus after seeing the price for the i830 when it hit the streets it turned me off - $450 w/o contract ROFL that's crazy. so i'll keep both nextel and cingular. by the time my contract ends w/ cingular the BT phones from nextel should either be out (at least) and/or lower price. cool thing about the siemens is it's the best phone i could find. it's BT, works for the TL, no camera, video phone, no other crap i don't need. which is why i got it cheap.

For those of you that's waiting for a smaller, lighter, colored, etc. etc. phone from Nextel, it's out. The new i830 is available for $99 w/ activation and after rebates.

Can't help Nextel, they are too far behind and spends too much time with NASCAR crap.

 

According to at least two dealers of each i860 and i930, neither is bluetooth compatible.

The issue here is not so much Nextel, but the unconfirmed rumors. Perhaps we can post here when there really is something to talk about.

As a Nextel stockholder, their lack of response in this area of technology is deplorable. But that's for another forum.

 

Today is September 8th, 2004 and there is still no Nextel Bluetooth enabled phones. I talked to three people this afternoon and they all were useless. On Jihad bitch said that a Bluetooth phone was due out next month (October) another guy gave me that we just came out with two new phones July, the last guy who was supposed to know everything stated that he has not even heard anything about a nextel blue tooth phone. I am so friggin pissed. I want bluetooth, but I am not givining up my Nextel for that shit.

The Motorola i930 was the first phone from Nextel that was suppose to have bluetooth and now they have taken that feature out. THE phone everybody is waiting for is the i605 which will be available 2004 as said in some of my previous emails I received. Hmm...that's quite a long time to wait. Either wait for it to come out or switch to GSM.

 

so if i get T637 unlocked, will it work with nextel? I really dont care about direct connect, i dont use it much........
