Newbie - need help with aftermarket head unit install

Hello all, new to this forum and I would appreciate some help and guidance with installing a new Alpine ILX-107 in my 2008 TL without Navigation. I have never really done a big project like this and I have done quite a bit of Google searching for videos and what not but have not really found anything helpful. I've also ready some info on Crutchfield's site which basically is recommending a pro do this rather than a DIYer. Is it really that difficult? A few other questions:
  • Do I really need to run new speaker wire for all the speakers and bypass the factory amp?
  • I don't really mind losing the center channel, but is there a way to keep the factory sub?
If anyone can chime in or give me some links that can help me out it would be greatly appreciated!

just get the right harness (google or search in this thread for acura tl double din kit) and your new head unit will connect straight the connections needed to keep oem setup (minus center channel).
no need to run new wiring

good luck!
