New stereo and backup camera install! 2006 TL

Just had it installed and I will be covering the trim pieces my self at a future time because I cant stand the half circles but am completely happy with it! The backup camera is awesome! Not to mention finally getting my 12 from my old car back in action!

Looks good, I'm sure that it would look way better once you cover the Trim pieces

it should look way better from what I've seen. And my amp is on the back of my box I'm eventually going to get a better box to fit back there but the sub has a pretty big magnet so I can't go to small

yeah I noticed after I put them back in the car you could see it a little but it only cost me right at $20 for materials and I can fix it later but for now it works for me since I did it myself lol

Looks nice, but....just my opinion, don't think that color matches your interior too well. Perhaps just paint it black. I'll find pics what my cousin did for a customer & post them later....

OK, found them......

Half circle plastic pieces were cut & glued & sanded down smooth. Double din trim piece was custom made also. Console trim & double din pieces than are custom painted to match the console.

oh wow now that looks like it came with the car that looks very good. I will have to do this one day. the only reason I went with the silver wrapping was because A. It was cheap lol and B. the other trim in the car is silver but it doesn't match perfectly

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. That's why I didn't do it to my. I was going to fill those with semi-circle defused plastic pieces lid with blue led(s) from behind for an accent.

it's a Kenwood DDX319 and it cost me 1,200 for stereo install, backup camera install, running the wire through the vehicle and hooking up my sub and amp and labor and parts. it was a little pricey but it was the only place willing to do it around my house and I sure as heck wasn't about to rip my car apart lol

So after a couple of years I decided to upgrade my stereo! I cut abs plastic and jb welded it to the back of the trim to give the bondo a good backing. I then sanded the entire thing down even though the bondo isn't perfect. I spray painted the trim. I took a dremel tool and cut a hole out in the back (the white arrow). I ran the usb through that for my iPhone! I also ran a mic for the bluetooth function. Everything is finished except custom trim pieces around the stereo. Stereo is a DDX771.

Thanks, and I didn't even think of doing that! Although I wouldn't have time for a few months to sit down and thoroughly explain, I have been way too busy! This took me a few weeks to do, I normally could do this in a weekend.

Looks great bro! Well done

I have to do something about mine - radio works, but my CD player just crapped out on me. It's low on my list of priorities at the moment as long as my radio holds out - but hope to do something similar at some point.
