3.40A was in a bunch of the 05 TLs when I got one as a loaner 2 months ago. 3.40B came out as "the one to buy" soon afterwards. I guess that was shortlived too as 3.40C is now out.

Does anyone know if the 3.40x series has the new Highway 85/Highway 87 interchange information as well as the new Highway 237/Highway 880 interchange? How about the new extended Highway 87? I'd be interested in seeing which version of the disc has that information.

I really wish the acuranavi.com website would give a litlte more information... Perhaps a searchable database (for current owners) that lets you see if new locations show up... I dunno just more than what they tell you (read nothing) today on the site.

My Oct. built, Nov 23 purchased 05 came with 3.40A. anybody know what the official upgrade proceedure is from Acura? Two updates in less than 2 months makes me feel ripped off.

Think I'll bring it up tomorrow at the Owners Appreciation Night gathering.

navi in Hawaii?

Just a silly question? Does anyone know if the updated TL navi discs are going to include hawaii? I know the GPS is in place now, just adding our little rock to the already immense map.

I was told by my dealer that the first release of the new navi discs for 05 had a lot of inconsistencies, so they pulled it and revised it. Might explain the "C" version.

Thanks for your info.
Those who've got the free updated navi discs by filling out a survey are 3.40B.

i wish that they would add the zaggot directory to the TL navigation...also i wish they would incorporate a touch screen BLUE TOOTH phone option with a number pad and recent calls and such for the Navi...

Hey BoneZTL,

If you are familar with SF Bay Area, can you check if the 3.04C shows the new 237/880 interchange, and the new 87/85 interchange? These are in the South Bay Area (silicon valley) in CA.

I want to order the update disc, but if it doesn't show even these major changes, I will not get it.

Thanks.

I bought my 05TL w/Navi on 1/15 and only discovered last week that it came with 3.40A. After I bitched to the dealer about spending so much $ and not getting the latest revision, I had them go through two other TLs to find the "C" disk. Well, they found it and just swapped it on the spot....I'm much happier now.

Hey Viper,

Did you notice any difference between rev A and C?

I checked the 880/237 intersection, and it is updated. I have not checked the 85/87 interchange.

To be honest with you, no...I've traveled back and forth to Jersey using A and using C and could not see any noticeable difference. I will tell you one thing that I found wrong in both versions though:

Union County, NJ CR 611 shows as CR 11 on the Navi

Haven't had a chance to report it, but its probably worth reporting.

Another anomaly I had with the A version that I think is worth mentioning but I haven't been able to try it out again with the C version was related to finding the nearest ATM in Plainfield, NJ. Not being familiar with the area, I needed to find an ATM. Well, it directed me to a non-existant bank right in the middle of a residential neighborhood. I don't know whether this was fixed or not.

I just picked up my TL yesterday. Supposedly it came right off the truck as I had been waiting for it to come in. It had 3.40A. I will try to whine about it to my dealer to see if they'll swap it for me.

I'm sure Acura is still putting 3.40A in some of their shipments because they probably had an overstock of it. And they're not going to throw them out. They know that MOST customers are not going to complain or worry about it.

I just spoke to the Navi DVD order desk, and according to them they are selling 3.40B right now, and the only difference between A and B (and the forthcoming C) is production dates, i.e., no difference in "mapping function." Who knows!
