I heard there's dvd-audio on the DMB dual disc that just released...has anyone confirmed if it works in the TL? Thanks!

 

 

You know, there's a lot of things i could say to that...but i'll just say i kept my criticism of the britney spears dvd-a quiet, so shut your pie hole baby!

I haven't bought it (stopped following the Dave Matthews Band when they outgrew playing every Tuesday night for $5.00 a ticket) but based on the commentary I've read about the Springsteen DualDisc I would be wary of trying to play ANY DualDisc in ANY in-car player. I've seen a lot of complaints that when you insert it into an in-dash player, the top side (i.e., the side you don't intend to play--the side that would be in the position of the label side on a normal CD) gets scratched up upon insertion and ejection because of the greater thickness of the disc.

 

According to Amazon's description, the DVD side is a 20 minute film on the making of the album and interviews with the band.

plus the entire album in 24-bit audio -- which certainly SOUNDS like dvd-a....

I tried playing the DVD side of the disc in my 05 TL last night and it gave the "DISC FORMAT" error. CD plays fine, however. Good to see another DMB fan

 

Actually, the flip side isn't even in 24-bit stereo.

 

new cd is horrible.. dmb passed their time

 

I like it.. definitely different, but I like it..

 

Give it a chance. When "Before These Crowded Streets" came out, fans were panning it.

 

The cd side works in my mac thankfully, and in the TL as well. It says on the website that the dvd side is in 24 bit stereo, but TLover is right that it's only 16bit 48khz. What a waste.

 

I was excited about this when I first saw it-how great would this be to have dvd-a dave I mean hell talk about the perfect band for some seperate channel action. But shit this new one sucks anyway.

 

DMB is on RCA Records, which is part of Sony Music, so the Dual Disc will not work in the TL for sure, because of Sony's stupid format

 

Correction, the AUDIO side works in the TL. At least sony could have encoded the dvd side for 5.1, so i could rip that into a dvd-audio like i did their central park concert
