Update: First of all, I am loving the look of the chromed version with my grey/brown TL.

Second, I am having trouble adjusting the pitch. No matter how I stick my screwdriver through the access holes above the fixture, I cannot get it engaged with the adjuster. How long of a screwdriver do I need, and at what angle should I be inserting it?

Sorry to keep bugging you all with these questions.

i used a pretty beefy phillips when i adjusted mine.

if yours won't work you'll need to find one with a longer shaft & plenty of girth.

Are those vortex generators on the leading edge of your hood? If so, why?

Looks like the white square LEDs on the new setup are on day or night

I have these in too I really like em , wish I adjusted em when I had the bumper off, they point down at the road quite a bit.
If or Have you installed led rear turn signal bulbs with these headlights do u get any hyper flash?
I wanna change my rear signals to nice bright amber
Led to match these headlights and I’m wondering usually it’s okay only when u have halegens up front led in back or vice versa. Any thoughts ?

Will my rear signals hyper flash with these headlights?

So I installed these with the resistors hangin off them like it says too. I’m wondering because the fronts are now led , if I want to put led signals in the rear with it hyper flash or mess with the fronts ? I want led Ambers for the rear to match nice bright fronts cause I got some near tail lights clear lense black housing so the amber will look nice. Any thoughts or tips would appreciate.

Remove resistors and modify the turn signal relay. There are at least two threads on this forum how to do that. Both methods work just fine, while one is slightly better approach.

From my experience, the turn signal in these is LED? I cant remember if I swapped over the OEM turn signal bulbs when switching...…..maybe its the housing in these headlights that make them appear so much brighter?

They are LED and they have separate resistors that are easily unplugged if one wants to.

Well I finally had the mechanic put these in because this thread sold me on the lights. My heart sank when I turned them on the first time in dark. Absolute garbage. Waste of money.

The light output is horrible. My former Veloster with aftermarket HIDS in the stock projector housing looks better than this.

flipper316 you need to adjust your headlights first. Yours are pointing to the ground. Although I believe that they are worse than stock as they illuminate less side of the road.

Do you not realize how misadjusted the mechanic installed your lights? Take a screwdriver and raise both the driver side and the passenger side because they both cut off in the dirt. (outlined in green)

They should cut off just below the oncoming line of sight in the car in front of you (in pink).

Adjust with Phillips here

looks like your a local. I am yet to see another TL with these headlights out here....
if your close to me, I can help you adjust, and I dont know why you think output it less than OEM, its probably the way your headlight is aimed which is causing you to think this

Ballast not fitting

I have a question with the set up when you install the ballast under the headlights.....the stock ballast doenst fit under the aftermarket headlight,it's too big to fit in that spot.Did you have a similar problem?and if so how did you fix it or what ballast did you buy to fit it?

I believe there is a difference in ballasts between 2004 (and maybe 2005) and other years and there are different versions of those headlights. Did you get right version for you car?

Ballast sizing changed in 06.

04-05 fat ones. Can also be found in TSX/S2000.

06+ slim smaller ones. Never bothered checking what other models use the ballast.

Unfortunately 04-08 isn't correct. The only similarities between 04-08 is the turn signal bulbs (it's different in TL-S). This is assuming you're vehicle is American and not Canadian. The ballast and DRL/Fog are different sizes.

Im not 100% sure on the part number for the ballast, but here is a link to a 2006 headlight diagram. It looks to me like #8, but someone with better knowledge could say for sure. The other piece is #21, as control unit. I’m not sure, did Acura discontinue the ballast, if it is #8, or am I wrong?

https://www.acuraoemparts.com/v-2006...uel--headlight

Just trying to help. If you need a better source, The RetroFitSource.com would be another good place to look, or call and ask if they’ll fit this headlight assembly.

let us know what you do find out. I also have an ‘04 and would be frustrated...

I found the ballasts for the 06 tl and they are definitely smaller than the 05,what I'm wondering is....if I buy those will they fit the 05,they look practically the same the only size varies and will the plug part of them fit or will it be smaller because in the pics they look the same

Did anyone come up with a definitive answer on whether or not these would work with an 04/05 Ballast and the 9006 "Fog" in the Headlight rather than a DRL?
Also, very cool shares.

Fog light size is HB3 / 9005.

The height adjustment is still a challenge as I have tried a few screwdrivers of different lengths and girth yet the teeth don't seem to mate up with the teeth in the gear. @jdmvette what size driver did you use?

I stumbled on a facebook marketplace ad for a set of these that needed a repair along with some oem 05's I could clean up/mod...
Couldn't pass it up...
I thought I would think they looked too much or ricey in person but honestly...they don't...they are well done and modernize the hell
out of the TL. Aside from getting a blacked out headlight without having to bake and open up...for now, I'm happy.

I used two different #2 head Phillips screwdrivers to adjust without issue...if you see the screw you are turning it is VERY fine threaded so it takes
a lot of movement to get the cutoff to move up/down.

If anyone is interested in the headlights at a good discount off new pricing, holler at your boy with a PM.
I'll include ballast, ignitor and bulbs to make it a simple swap for you 04 and 05 guys and gals.

I ended up opening up my oem set to mess around with it since I'm trying to keep it oem plus looking.

So I really wanted the white LED strip to be on during the day without having to switch my light stock knob from the parking light position to the headlights ON position. There are 3 wires going into the new headlight housing that used to be connected to the turn signal bulb in the old headlight. The wires are black, red, and green. The black is ground, the red is a positive pulsing signal that is connected to the turn signal amber LEDs in the new headlight, the green wire is a positive that provides a constant 12v to the white LED strip (when the full headlights are on or the parking lights are on). I cut the green wire going into the headlights and connected it directly to a fuse in the fuse box under the hood that had constant 12v when the car was on. I used the fan relay fuse, the same one jdmvette used in the above post to keep his fogs on all the time. The result is when I turn on my car the white LEDs are always on (during the day and night). I am pleased with the results. (I know I need a car wash haha)

I'll preface this by saying I am new at wiring and electricity as a whole. I'm trying to figure this out...having the LED Accents as a daytime running light. I can't quite understand it though. There are 3 wires coming from the grey connector, I cut the green one, then run that other green one from the actual headlight to the fan relay fuse? How exactly do I run that wire? Do I need more wire?

Sorry for all the questions, but these lights had been on my list for a year, and after finally getting my hands on them, I don't mind doing a little work to get them working how I'd like.

Thanks!
