Question Need help, XM button not working

Drove to work today listening to my ipod(DICE R4 unit). When I left work to go home I discovered the ipods not working. When I push my XM button nothing happens.
The mode button on the steering goes from FM1>FM2>AM>CD/DVD Audio back to FM1.
The voice commands wont recognize any XM commands.
Everything else seems to be working. Anyone have any ideas on what could cause this?

press map + Menu + Guide and go to the B-CAN or F-CAN, in there should be a diagram with all the various units, the units will light up green if its good or red if bad. The XM will probably be red, if so then the XM unit is not communicating with the radio, thus meaning that the dice cord is loose or that the dice unit is malfunctioning and not passing the signal to the radio.

^^ I would agree. It sounds like it's unplugged. A lot of installers fail to push the plug in all the way until it locks in place.

Thanks guys.
I checked B-CAN & F-CAN, one said error active, but everything was green. The other showed everything green, but it didn't show anything to do with the radio.
When I checked navi system, it did show XM as red.
I installed the DICE unit almost a year ago. I haven't had any problems ( other than the clock display not working right anymore) it just seems weird that it would suddenly come unplugged.
I guess I'll have to tear apart the interior again and make sure its still plugged in everywhere.
uncald, do you think it would do this if it came unplugged from the DICE unit itself, or only from the back of the radio?

Not sure buddy. Ants could have hauled the whole thing away piece by piece to build a nest. But I wouldn't know.

no ants allowed in my car

Actually if the y harness had come unplugged from the back of the radio, I wouldnt think anything would work, which is why I was wondering what would happen if the end going to the DICE unit became unplugged.
I'll check the DICE unit first, hopefully thats where the problem is.

O.K., I checked the end of the y harness that goes into the DICE unit. It was (or looked) fully plugged in. I removed it and reconnected it, and now everything is working again.
Thanks for the help guys.

thanks,
yeah, getting to the DICE unit is much easier than getting to the back of the radio. I figured if my radio and cd player were working , the y harness connection to the back of the radio was probably all right.
Kind of weird that it would act up like that, but I'm glad it's working again

Actually nothing now. I had to jump start the car a while ago, and since then whenever the ipod was on the only thing the clock display would read was DICE or NO INFO.
I thought I messed it up when I jumped the car, however, after playing around with it this morning I figured out the problem.
When all else fails RTFM.

I learned the display button on the HU scrolls thru several things on the display when in XM mode. The jump start must have defaulted it back to showing the channel info ( which is DICE ).
Now it reads the artist info again.

? yes
I think it says display and mode on the button. It's just to the right of the XM button.
When in XM mode ( or DICE MODE thru the XM ) it will scroll thru artist, album , song ,channel, etc. in the clock display. I didn't know this and thought mine wasnt working right anymore because it would only say DICE or NO INFO.

I have a 2006 RL and the XM portion of the diagnostics is showing red. Where is this "Y" connector located so I can check this connection? Thanks

The Y harness is because I had an aftermarket ipod player (DICE unit) connected. If you don't have that, than you don't have the Y harness in question.
